ANOTHER FREE TREAT FOR SHOPPERS!
Following the success of the free trial mini sessions of complementary therapies at the Westmorland Centre in October, TLC - The Lakeland Collective, has arranged even more treats for shoppers on Saturday 14th November (10-4pm) at the shopping centre.
TLC is a non-profit organisation dedicated to increasing the public’s health choice options; enlightening and advising so that they can make informed decisions concerning their healthcare.
More than a dozen therapists skilled in a range of disciplines from acupuncture to yoga therapy will be present giving the free trial sessions to demonstrate the various health options available today. The day will also give people the opportunity to discuss health matters with the therapists.
As a further treat, a free sample of homeopathic Arnica remedy, will be available.
Arnica is a very useful remedy home use as it treats many acutes conditions.
“Arnica is a great remedy for home use; it is a natural antioxidant, which enables it to reduce pain treating bruises, sprains, joint and muscle pain and swelling in the affected area that is made worse by movement. Arnica is suitable for treating all injuries that have occurred as a result of cuts, stubs or falls. It also deals with shock after accidents as well as trauma and anxiety.” Brief details of the usage of Arnica will be given with the tablets with fuller details being available on the TLC website www.tlckendal.org
“We wish to encourage everyone to do their own further research, read testimonials, etc. so that everyone can benefit from Arnica usage. It is a remedy that should be in every home with usage being as automatic as sticking on a plaster or taking an aspirin.” And the even better news is… there are no side effects or health challenges from taking it!
Anyone can Google Arnica usage, e.g.
“Arnica for home use” gives 244,000 entries
“Arnica for baby” 359,000 entries
“Arnica for children” 224,000 entries
“Arnica for inflammation” 148,000 entries
“Arnica for healing” 182,000 entries
“Arnica for skin” 696,000 entries
We have invited students from the Lakeland College of Homeopathy to help staff the area to give them the opportunity to share their knowledge of the Arnica remedy and discuss homeopathy with the public.
After a recent discussion with South Lakeland Action for Health (ex NHS-SOS) the chairman asked the members present if any of them had Arnica in their homes, 75% of those present raised their hands.
When discussing this Arnica gift and the forthcoming Mountain Rescue Festival with Shaar Dixon of KAN Health Foods, she said that she knew “a lot of rescue members and they use Arnica already, but obviously not all will know!!” The invitation to accept the free sample is open to mountaineers as well as for home use!
Although Shaar cannot attend on the 14th she wants to add her own treat for shoppers with a variety of free samples of health products for people to try, what a treat.
With all these treats you might think that Christmas has arrived early!
To help with Christmas present shopping TLC will be offering Discounted Gift Vouchers for therapy sessions with TLC registered practitioners. The recipient need not be unwell to enjoy a massage, or an attunement with crystals that could give the body an opportunity to relax and strengthen the immune system.
We greatly appreciate the Westmorland Centre’s use of their facility and hope to have many future events there. Next time we would like to have free samples of homeopathic Aconite, a great remedy for colds and flu with many other uses for the mountaineer or in the home.
Without a doubt complementary therapies will gain further acceptance and usage. NICE recently gave their approval of acupuncture, massage and manipulation therapies such as osteopathy and chiropractic for chronic back pain. Yet NHS Cumbria still has these prohibited / restricted in their “Policy No. 5 for the Commissioning of Alternative Therapies. Policy No. CMSSNG 2006/05.”
In May this year one of our members, June Garbutt, arranged a talk on Integrated Healthcare at W.G.H. and Christie Hospital Manchester. Many doctors, consultants and nurses attended these events demonstrating their open approach for an improvement on the treatments they dispense to patients. In closing the talk at WGH Mr. John McGregor, Consultant Radiologist FRCP FRCR Consultant for the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay stated “that Dr Bongaard’s talk was timely in view of the radical shift currently happening towards a more conscious medicine.” The WGH’s nurses training programme now includes holistic therapies. Full details of this presentation are on our website www.tklckendal.org
As the NHS is now “Patient-led” one of TLC’s aims is to help the patient understand the many health choice options that there are available today so that within the “Patient-led NHS” they can make informed decisions for their ‘treatment’. (TLC is all about treats and providing people with knowledge so they can make informed decisions about their health!)
On a monthly basis, “TLC Talks About” many health issues in depth at the Castle Street Centre on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7.00 p.m. The November talk, next week, is “Inner Core – Feeling Great on the Inside Out!” by Elaine Stephenson a Registered General Nurse, Reiki master, Kundaini Yoga teacher, and Colonic hydrotherapist.
TLC looks forward to meeting you on Saturday 14th November, in the Westmorland Centre from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m for your free trial mini sessions and or come and attend the Castle Street Centre at 7.00 p.m on Thursday 19th November for our monthly talks with Elaine Stephenson, a Registered General Nurse, reiki master, Kundaini Yoga teacher and Colonic hydrotherapist.
NB. Remember to come and collect your free samples and try the free trial sessions from our therapists.
